14 hours in Dumaguete

The band of itchy feet homebuddies are no way ending the year without some wanderlust loving.

So, we planned a one-day trip to the ‘City of Gentle People’ — Dumaguete.

We rode off to Liloan, Santander (southern tip of Cebu) around 2 am and arrived at the port around 530ish.

After the 30 minute boat ride, we directly headed out for breakfast at Gabby’s B&B

Yum yum!!!

Two of my other companions were already very hungry but because they were very slow in ordering, their meals were served last. *insertevillaughformyfriends

My food was served first. I was pretty happy about it 😀

30 minutes later,  we were  way up high in the mountains of southern Negros Island, 12 km west of the town of Sibulan,

There lie the captivating Lake Balinsasayao and its twin lake, equally breathtaking Lake Danao.

From a certain point you head up to the mountains, a steep and winding path, until you reach the area for disembarking.

COLD. FOG. TREES. NATURE.

HOORAY!

Finally, you make a short descent to the lake by way of a man-made stairway made from flat stones.

The majestic and serene lake slowly unfolds before your eyes as with the silhouette of the mountains behind.

Cold, but beautiful and serene.
The sound of wind rustling through the trees is just music to my ears.

Breathtaking. Simply, breathtaking.

We were asked if we are to go to  Balinsasayao’s twin lake – Lake Danao, or if we opt to visit Olayan falls.

We decided to do the short trek to Olayan Falls instead.

Al….moostt… there! haha

Great strength and cardio exercise, I tell ya! 😛

It was already 11 am and we have not eaten lunch yet,  We quickly drove back to the city  and ate at City Burger.

Their chicken inasal  (roasted chicken) and deep fried chicken skins are to die for!

To burn calories while we wait for our pasalubong order, we strolled around Siliman and Dumaguete’s baywalk.
